Imagine your relationship in a fresh light

It is often hard to see the dawn in the midst of the dark night. Believing change is possible is the key to making change. Beliefs are like internal commands to the brain. Beliefs are a choice and you have the power to choose your beliefs, and as such your beliefs become your reality.

Taking the first step

Start by imagining what you want your relationship to be like. Attempt to picture your relationship in detail. Write a list of all the positive things your partner brings to the relationship. What do you admire about them? Visualize all of the positive things both you and your partner bring to the relationship. Imagine what your relationship would be like in that relationship. How would you behave and what will you be doing differently.

Use positive language in your description of your relationship. Avoid using the words “at least” and “not” in your descriptions. Research indicates that when people use positive language in their descriptions their happiness is greater. For instance, I am grateful I didn’t get sick, reworded in the positive would be I am grateful that I am healthy.

What we look for we will find. Reword your language when describing what you have. Need a guide for building stronger connection and intimacy? Call and schedule an appointment today.
